Welcome to this week’s edition of TravelEAR Abroad. Today, you have the chance to travel back to a simpler time as we give you a look at the Delta Queen Hotel.

I’m sure many TravelEARS have been caught up in the historic splendor of the Mark Twain at Disneyland or the Liberty Bell at the Magic Kingdom. They offer a chance to be on a small-scale replica paddlewheeler just like the ones that used to sail the rivers of America.

The good news for our weary travelers today is that the Delta Queen is actually a full-size fully operational paddleboat... and yes, you can spend the night!

The Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend is here and the health/fitness Expo for the event is happening now through tomorrow at the Disneyland Hotel in celebration of the big event!

Nftysqrt was at the Disneyland Hotel today for a look at the goings on. Apart from the shiny new medals for the inaugural race, runDisney spokesperson Jeff Galloway was on hand amongst all the excitement, booths, and crowds.

Amidst the excitement of the inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland, existing construction and refurbishment projects are plowing ahead at full steam. Nftysqrt was in the parks for a look at the on-going craziness of progression!

In this week's park update you'll find that the Paradise Pier shops continue to be transformed, Carsland continues to get polished, Matterhorn is all wrapped for its makeover, and Buena Vista Street continues to take shape.

There's a lot going on!

Marvel Studios announced today that they will be sponsoring a Global Twitter Chat on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. (PST) with cast members and the director of their highly anticipated action-adventure “Marvel’s The Avengers,” opening in theaters on May 4, 2012.

The 30-minute live tweeting event features writer/director Joss Whedon and cast members Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg.

The inaugural runDisney Tinker Bell Half Marathon kicks off today with an Expo at the Disneyland Hotel and a 5k Fun Run inside Disneyland 10:30pm. If you're going to be heading to the resort this weekend you'll definitely want to Be in the Know Before You Go.

With 12,000 runners in the main race on Sunday, you can expect there to be quite a high volume of people once you also count in their family and supporters. Additionally, road closures around the Resort can also impact getting to and around the area.

D23 devotes its entire Spring issue of Disney twenty-three magazine to the remarkable legacy and influence of Disney animated films.
